Throat Theory is built safety-first. Our edge is simple: real, verified people and consent-safe content — not bots, not fakes. Here's how that works and how to get help.
Every account passes an age check (18+), and accounts can earn a verified badge through ID/liveness verification. We block bots at signup and flag AI-generated or deepfake photos. If we can't confirm someone is a real adult, they don't get in.
Intimate content can only be published when every person shown is a verified adult who has granted publish consent — because consenting to create something is not the same as consenting to share it. Approved media is watermarked so it can be traced if it ever leaks, and creators can revoke their content at any time.
You can block any user instantly, and report any profile, message, or piece of content. Reports involving minors or imminent harm are prioritized. Blocking is private — the other person isn't told.
If an intimate image of you was shared without your consent, you can request removal even if you don't have an account. We remove valid-notice content within 48 hours and block known copies from being re-uploaded, in line with the federal TAKE IT DOWN Act. Email safety@throattheory.com or use the in-app report tool.
Content involving minors (real, simulated, or AI-generated), non-consensual content, trafficking, or coercion results in an immediate permanent ban and is reported to NCMEC and law enforcement as required by law. There are no appeals for these.
Our systems screen messages for romance-scam patterns (gift-card asks, crypto "investments," off-platform money requests) and lower the trust score of accounts that try them. Never send money or gift cards to someone you've met online. If someone pressures you for money, report them.
Use Discreet mode and Incognito to control who sees you and when. You decide what location precision to share, and you can turn it off. See our Privacy Policy for how your data is handled.
If you're in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. For support around harassment, image abuse, or your wellbeing, you can reach out to a trusted person or a local support line. We can also point you to resources — just ask in the app.
