Romance scam

A romance scam is a con where someone fakes a relationship to extract money — building trust fast, isolating you, then asking for cash, gift cards or crypto for an 'emergency'. LGBTQ+ adults are targeted at roughly twice the rate of straight adults. Never send money to someone you haven't met in person.
